My “day job” has for almost ever been public school teacher. I started out as an ELL professional. For the last two decades, I have been in gifted & talented instructional support. I learn so much from my students and colleagues. Here is my first ever professional development book, A Field Guide to Gifted Students, written by me and Molly Kellogg (with whom I used to co-teach), with illustrations - so fun to do! Published by Prufrock Press.

Howard Gardner, Harvard Professor best known for his multiple intelligences theory, has this to say about our book:

It puts into words and images the multiple ways in which young persons can show their gifts, thereby providing illumination to teachers, parents, and (as appropriate) to the young person her/himself.

And, from Thomas Hebert:
I’ve enjoyed using your book with graduate students in my course entitled Nature and Needs of the Gifted. It’s a great introduction to the characteristics, traits, and behaviors of GT students. I’ve found that they enjoy the vivid descriptions of the 12 profiles. They can easily connect these to children they’ve worked with. It’s also a great supplement to the material I cover on special populations. I thank you for this contribution to the field. Many teachers and parents will benefit from your work.

If you would like to get a true sense of the book, please view the WEBINAR featured on the Routledge page. My co-author, Molly Kellogg, and I had so much fun talking with Joel MacIntosh, Prufrock Press Founder (Note: The press has since been acquired by Taylor and Francis). I am also happy to share a Q/A about this book with Ed Magazine (Harvard Graduate School of Education).
